The short version
Infinity Codex is a static information site about modding Pillars of Eternity. It does not use advertising cookies, does not build profiles of visitors, and does not sell or share personal data. What little information is processed is described below.
Analytics
To understand which pages are useful, the site may use a privacy-friendly, cookieless web analytics service. It records aggregate, non-identifying signals such as page views, referring site and general device type. It does not set tracking cookies, does not fingerprint you, and does not follow you to other websites. No individual visitor is identified.
When you email us
If you contact us at [email protected], we receive the email address you write from and whatever you choose to include in the message. That information is used only to read and reply to your message, and is not added to any marketing list.
Cookies
The site aims to run without cookies. It does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Your browser may store standard, non-tracking data (for example, a remembered scroll position) locally on your device; this is not shared with anyone.
Third parties
Pages are served through standard web hosting and a content-delivery network, which — like all web servers — process technical request data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the page and to protect the site from abuse. Fonts and other assets are served from the site itself rather than from third-party font networks.
External links
Some pages link to other sites. Once you follow such a link you are subject to that site's own privacy practices, which we do not control. Please review their policies where relevant.
Your choices
Because the site does not identify individual visitors, there is no personal profile to access or delete. You can browse with your own privacy tools (ad-blockers, tracker-blockers, private browsing) without affecting how the site works. For any privacy question, email [email protected].
Data retention
Because the site does not create visitor accounts or profiles, there is no store of personal data building up over time. Aggregate analytics figures — counts of page views and the like — are just numbers and cannot be traced back to you. Emails you send are kept only as long as they are useful for answering you and acting on any correction, and are not reused for anything else.
Children's privacy
This is a general-audience site about a video game and its mods. It is not directed at children, does not knowingly collect personal information from them, and has nothing that would identify a visitor of any age in the first place.
Why we can process the little data there is
The small amount of technical data a web server necessarily handles — the request itself, an IP address, a browser type — is processed for the legitimate interest of delivering the page you asked for and keeping the site available and secure. When you email us, we process your message to do the thing you contacted us to do: reply. There is no advertising profiling behind either.
Changes to this policy
If the site's data practices change, this page will be updated to reflect them. The current version always lives at this address, so it is worth a glance if you want the latest position.
